The Accessible Doula
We offer 4-day Holistic Doula Certification programs to make it accessible to become a doula and accessible for families to find a doula.
The Matrona Foundation’s Accessible Doula Scholarship Program furthers the mission of returning the power of birth to ALL families by specifically targeting communities that are traditionally underserved in the birth community.
We firmly believe that every community should have a trained birth worker from within that community to support their own unique needs.
We are seeking fierce women with generosity of spirit who have been prevented from training due to financial constraints and are willing to pay it forward by gifting their services to families of need within their communities who would not otherwise be able to afford birth support services.
We ask that all participants come with open minds and giving hearts.
The purpose of this program is to bring doula training to communities that are heavily impacted by the current state of health disparities in birth and would not be able to afford access to a standard doula training program.
Preferential selection will be given to people who have not been previously trained, plan on working in high impact communities, persons of color, single parents, and those not usually represented within the birth community. All donations collected towards the program will go towards covering the meeting space and lodging for the teachers who are gifting their time and travel to the group.
